Types of procedure

The process of restoring virginity is carried out using different methods. However, all methods have one thing in common: the desire to minimize the risk of injury and ensure the most natural and unnoticeable result.

Despite the temporary effect of short-term hymenoplasty, the sutures will soon completely dissolve and no traces of the intervention remain. Therefore, this option is more suitable for women who want to keep their personal lives secret.

Main types of hymenoplasty:

  • Short term Assumes temporary results. The integrity of the hymen is maintained for up to 2 weeks. This type of intervention is minimally traumatic. It is characterized by a short recovery period and the absence of significant discomfort after the procedure.
  • Long-term This technique is focused on creating a long-term effect. That is, the restored hymen is preserved until the moment of sexual intercourse. The procedure involves recreating the hymen from epithelial tissue.

Indications and contraindications

Hymenoplasty is usually prescribed to women who want to get rid of the consequences of sexual violence. Another indication is the need to restore anatomical integrity after accidents or injuries.

The intervention has a number of limitations related to the patient's health condition. Absolute contraindications include severe diseases:

  • Blood coagulation pathologies
  • Oncology
  • Serious cardiovascular disorders

The operation is contraindicated because these conditions can significantly increase the risks associated with its implementation.

It is also necessary to take into account relative contraindications: pregnancy and breastfeeding, various inflammatory processes, genital infections and the active stage of menstruation.

General information about the procedure

Examination and preoperative preparation

The first stage of preparation for the intervention is a meeting with the doctor. This process ensures safety and guarantees the success of the surgical intervention. During the initial consultation, the doctor identifies possible pathologies and discusses with the patient all the details of the upcoming procedure.

In preparation for the operation to restore virginity, the specialist sends the woman for an X-ray, electrocardiogram (ECG), video colporrhaphy. It is also necessary to pass general blood and urine tests and a smear for microflora.

Depending on the features revealed during the examination, the doctor refers the patient to specialized doctors - in particular, to a cardiologist and endocrinologist. If necessary, these specialists refer the woman for further examination.

Immediately before the procedure it is necessary:

The main stages of hymenoplasty

With the right approach, hymenoplasty is a relatively short and safe procedure.

First, the doctor selects drugs for anesthesia. This is done taking into account the age, weight, and health of the patient. Then the surgeon recreates the hymen, using the existing tissue remnants. The doctor can also form a new hymen from vaginal tissue.

The woman does not need to be hospitalized after the procedure. On average, the time spent in the clinic is several hours (2-5 on average).

The recovery process after surgery in 90% of cases is accompanied by the appearance of hematomas and slight bleeding.
