Indications for blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is recommended when:

Types of eyelid surgery

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty

Over time, age-related changes are observed. They are expressed in the form of sagging skin of the upper eyelids, which negatively affects the eyebrow line area. This often leads to a narrowing of the field of vision and increased eye strain. In order to eliminate such manifestations, upper eyelid surgery is performed, which allows you to remove excess skin and raise the eyebrow line to the desired level. It is more effective to carry out such an operation and additionally a forehead skin tightening procedure.

Lower eyelid blepharoplasty

Correction of the lower eyelids is carried out to eliminate bag-like formations under the eyes, as well as pronounced folds or excess skin. The choice of method for this type of blepharoplasty depends on individual characteristics. If you need to get rid of swollen “bags” under the eyes, which can lead to the appearance of deep wrinkles, and even young people face this problem, then in this case a decision is made to perform transconjunctival plastic surgery. This procedure involves making a micro-incision in the inner area of ​​the lower eyelid. This procedure does not require stitches. Complete healing of the incision occurs within 24 hours after the operation. Regarding the removal of excess skin, lower eyelid surgery is performed in the same way as upper eyelid blepharoplasty.

Circular blepharoplasty

This is a more complex and lengthy lift of both the upper and lower eyelids. It is done in several stages and should be performed by a professional doctor, as it is more difficult than other types of plastic surgery. Transconjunctival blepharoplasty

Recovery

The recovery process depends on individual characteristics. To make this process happen more quickly, it will be necessary to follow some postoperative recommendations.

Possible complications:

  • Harmless subcutaneous hemorrhages that disappear after about a week. The risk of such consequences is higher in smoking patients

The period for complete recovery is 1.5 months. This time, as a rule, is enough for a scar to form and the swelling that occurs after the procedure to disappear.
