The formation of the tip of the nose is based on multi-layered cartilage tissue. The skin in this area is denser than on other parts of the organ and contains many sebaceous glands. Correction of the nose involves injection replenishment of the missing volume or surgical excision of the lower lateral cartilage in order to eliminate visible deformations of the organ. As a result of the operation, the nose looks aesthetically more attractive, giving the face the desired harmony of perception.

Indications

According to the criteria of aesthetic medicine, there are several types of nose shapes. Dissatisfaction is usually caused by the type of tip that the patient evaluates as:

Too wide or thin
Dropped (hooked) or upturned (snub)
Forked, flattened (duck-like) or nodding (lowering when smiling)

The pronounced asymmetry of the location, a shift to one side, for example, after an injury or a previously unsuccessful correction, also deserves attention.

Rhinoplasty of the tip of the nose allows you to modify it due to:

Lengthening or shortening of cartilage tissue
Raising or lowering by correcting the angle of inclination
Narrowing or expansion of the cartilaginous frame

Contraindications

There are restrictions that impose a temporary or complete ban on plastic surgery. These include:

Infectious, inflammatory diseases of ENT organs
Diabetes
Hemodynamic disorders
Chronic cardiovascular pathologies
Oncological neoplasms
Pregnancy and lactation

Features of nasal tip plastic surgery

In order to shape the desired tip of the nose, the surgeon uses techniques that affect only the structures of the lower third of the organ: skin, cartilage, epithelial tissue. Full rhinoplasty involves correction of the entire nose, including the bone structure of the dorsum and septum. In this case, tip plastic surgery is performed in a complex of manipulations if there are aesthetic requests.

Nose reduction surgery is considered the standard of recognized surgeon skill, because... requires jeweler's precision and utmost care in work. Technically, nasal tip surgery is sometimes more complex than standard types of rhinoplasty. At the same time, it is less traumatic and does not require long-term rehabilitation.

Types of correction

In practice, two main treatment approaches are used – non-surgical and surgical. The first involves the injection of special compounds to create the desired volume and contour modeling of the shape of the tip.

The method is convenient because it provides quick results without long-term swelling and hematomas, is easily tolerated and does not require special preparation. Disadvantages include limited correction options and the need for repeated injections every six months to maintain the achieved shape.

Surgical reduction of the nose is performed either closed or open. In the first case, access to the operated area is provided through incisions inside the nasal passages. This avoids visible traces of intervention, but reduces the operative field.

Open surgery is performed through an incision at the base between the nostrils. The doctor carefully pushes back the skin layers and gets a wider view of the operated area. After surgery, a cosmetic scar remains at the incision site, which with additional processing gradually becomes almost invisible.

In order to give the tip of the nose the desired shape, the surgeon uses tissue excision or suturing and installation of a cartilage graft. The manipulation is performed under local or general anesthesia. It is completed by applying a plaster cast and inserting supporting tampons.
