Types of dental prosthetics on implants
The choice of implantation type depends on the number of lost or partially destroyed teeth.

Crowns

Two-stage dental implantation classic

- One-stage dental implantation

- Zygoma implantation

- Express dental implantation

- Intramucosal dental implantation
Intramucosal inlays are used to fix the implant in the gingival mucosa. Implantation of this type is suitable for various pathologies of the development of the palate.
Before prosthetics, the patient undergoes diagnostics, x-rays of the jaws. If the doctor detects an insufficient amount of bone tissue in thickness or height, it will first need to be increased. With a slight shortage, the bone is too thin, plastic surgery is carried out simultaneously with the implantation of pins in the lower jaw.
Implantation is difficult when there is a lack of bone tissue from above. The sinus lift operation allows you to build up the bone and further bypass the maxillary sinuses. If the tissue deficiency is large, the doctor first performs a bone block sampling and grafting or an open sinus lift. After the gums have healed, implantation is performed after 3-6 months.
The need for bone grafting can lengthen the treatment procedure up to 1–1.5 years.

These technologies involve temporary fastening of artificial teeth to the gums. In the form of attachments, separate pins with spherical tops or an implant-beam system are fixed in the base. The first method is more common and affordable. However, at the same time, it provokes strong pressure on the gum, as a result of which it gradually atrophies.
With a beam structure, the pins are interconnected by a solid metal beam. This makes it possible to make a durable prosthesis that keeps the implants from loosening in the future. In this case, the chewing load is distributed throughout the jaw. The technique is especially effective when using the multi-unit abutment system (removable element), it costs almost the same as fixed prosthetics.
The difference between removable dentures is that a person can independently remove them, carry out hygienic manipulations and insert them back. Prosthesis on 2 implants is popular with those who have already used a removable adhesive-based jaw and want a more rigid design. The technology is affordable, but requires periodic replacement of the removable element. The prosthesis is made of dense plastic.
Removable prosthesis for the upper jaw without a palate requires the installation of 4 to 8 base pins. Only in this case, the system can hold firmly and feel no different from your own teeth.
The technique involves the installation on a permanent basis of a complete upper or lower jaw instead of your own teeth. The main advantages of this type of prosthetics are the absence of an addiction period, and there is also no pressure on the gums or discomfort. The disadvantage is the high price and a long, phased installation period.
In the lower jaw, a prosthesis on implants is placed on 6 pins according to the classical method. You can choose the material: plastic, cermet or zirconium. The service life of a plastic prosthesis is one year. After this time, it is removed and replaced with another one, the junction is filed, but the implants themselves are left.
When choosing a ceramic-metal or zirconium material, prosthetics on implants takes place in several stages:
After the implants have healed, the temporary prosthesis is replaced with a permanent zirconium or ceramic-metal prosthesis. For the upper jaw, the time for complete implantation is longer and ranges from 6 months.
New generation dentures without a palate are installed on the upper jaw on 6 or 8 base pins. The implantation site is selected taking into account the structure of the bone tissue in this area, bypassing the maxillary sinuses. This is a classic and reliable denture method, but there is also a new all-on-4 technique for palatless dentures.
With this type of prosthetics, permanent implants are installed in the jaw, as usual. The difference is that if necessary, a complete prosthesis can be removed by the doctor.
For this, a screw structure of the support is inserted, an abutment with crowns is screwed onto it. The patient does not feel the difference with a conventional fixed prosthesis and cannot remove it himself.
This technique shows a practical advantage. When replacing a prosthesis, the doctor does not cut the pins and uses them as a support for new teeth. The price of conditionally removable dentures on implants from will be much higher.
A new technique in which it is possible to install a lower or upper prosthesis on implants using only 4 screw-retained supports. This is a non-removable design with a one-time load on the gum, installed in one day.

Implant-supported prosthetics is an innovative type of treatment in dental orthopedics. The connection of the false jaw with the gum occurs using attachments: a spherical connection or a beam structure. For reliable adhesion of the dental prosthesis to the base, from 2 to 8 implant pins are used. Their number depends on the chosen technique and the condition of the patient’s bone tissue.
If several adjacent chewing molars or premolars are missing in the dentition, partial dentures are performed. To do this, use a clasp prosthesis on implants on one or both sides. Attachments are a locking or hinged connection on a metal bracket to the outermost healthy teeth. In bridge prosthetics, the prosthesis is supported by installed outermost crowns.
In case of extensive destruction of the dentition, it is recommended to remove it and install dentures on implants on the empty gum. The lower jaw has denser bone tissue than the upper jaw. For this reason, from 2 to 6 implants can be installed on the bottom, and from 4 to 8 on top.
