IVF donor programs are the donation of germ cells, oocytes and sperm, as well as embryos. IVF with donor sperm
If there is an infertility problem in the family associated with the male factor: lack of germ cells, low quality, mobility or quantity, assisted reproductive technology can be used for treatment. Most often, donor sperm is used. It can be a method of conception for women without a permanent partner in artificial insemination programs. K+31 has its own sperm bank, so the use of donor material is possible in a short time.
The candidate must provide the clinic with the conclusion of a narcologist, psychiatrist and geneticist that there are no contraindications for sperm donation.
Only after a quarantine of several months and several checks, donor cells can be used.
The use of donor sperm is carried out under conditions of anonymity. This means that the donor cannot get information about who used his sperm, and patients do not have access to the donor's personal data.
IVF with a donor egg
The use of donor eggs is used for the following indications:
- The ovaries do not mature their own eggs, even after stimulation of superovulation
- Missing oocytes after oophorectomy or other reasons
- Multiple IVF programs fail to obtain embryos or transfer does not result in pregnancy
- Women have genetic diseases or other health conditions
Donors can be either anonymous (provided by the K+31 clinic) or non-anonymous (relatives or acquaintances of patients). The requirements in both cases are the same: only a healthy woman no older than 35 years old who has been examined in accordance with the law and has given her voluntary consent to participate in the IVF procedure as a donor can become an egg donor. Obviously, the IVF clinic imposes more stringent requirements on the health of an anonymous donor. Thus, women with bad habits are not allowed to participate in donor programs.
If a non-anonymous oocyte donor participates in the program, then the program looks like this:
First, they begin to stimulate the oocyte donor with medicinal methods, receive the eggs are fertilized with the husband's sperm, the embryos are cultured and cryopreserved. Further waiting of the patient's menstrual cycle, prepare the endometrium and transfer the embryos into the uterine cavity.
Anonymous oocyte donor can be selected in the donor oocyte bank by blood type and some external data. At the same time, the cost of the program can be significantly lower, since the patient does not bear additional costs for ovarian stimulation and, in many cases, endometrial preparation drugs. Defrost date and fertilization of donor oocytes can be planned for the patient's menstrual cycle and embryo transfer into the uterine cavity in a natural cycle.
Donor Embryo Program
In cases of both female and male infertility, in the absence of germ cells in both partners, after three or more IVF attempts that turned out to be unsuccessful, and embryo transfer does not lead to pregnancy, IVF programs with donor embryos are used. These programs are legal in Russia and completely anonymous. Donor embryos can be obtained from parents up to 35 years of age in good health. Donors remain anonymous, but such facts about them as blood type, eye color, medical examination results and some others are known. Before implantation, embryos must undergo genetic screening. Donors are not told whether their embryos were used for fertilization or not.
The use of donor embryos makes it possible to avoid hormonal stimulation and some other procedures.
