About the service

Often, women who are passionate about work or business do not have time to “fall out” of ordinary life for several years due to pregnancy and the birth of a child. On the one hand, I want to give birth to a healthy child and become a mother, and on the other hand, I want to make a career or get a good education. Not so long ago there was an output: you can freeze your oocytes at a young reproductive age and use them when the need arises: ultra-low temperatures preserve eggs for decades.

The possibilities of cryobanking at the K + 31 Center for Maternity and Reproductive Medicine in Moscow can help not only patients suffering from various forms of infertility for IVF, but also to healthy people in the process of family planning.

Cryopreservation is an effective method of freezing and storing cells, which preserves their viability for a long time. In reproduction, spermatozoa, eggs and embryos are cryopreserved for their further use in the IVF protocol. The procedure is carried out at a temperature of −196 ° C, by placing capsules with biological materials in liquid nitrogen. The current level of development of technology for freezing and storing biological material allows more and more number of people to become happy parents.

What is delayed motherhood?

The "delayed motherhood" program in our clinic involves the cryopreservation of oocytes using advanced technologies that allow long-term storage of eggs with preservation of their quality until the time when pregnancy is planned. The main advantage of the program is that it allows you to plan the birth of a child, postpone it for the future, for an indefinite period, without risking a decrease in the quality of genetic material and eggs, which normally deteriorate with age.

How is oocyte cryopreservation performed?

A woman takes tests and undergoes a series of examinations. Then ovulation is stimulated so that more follicles can be obtained. After that, under ultrasound control, oocyte puncture is performed. The resulting oocytes are analyzed, their quality and morphological features are evaluated. Damaged eggs are discarded and cells without defects are frozen. The K + 31 clinic uses technology for this vitrification (ultrafast freezing of cells), as this is a more reliable method, which provides excellent preservation and viability of oocytes after vitrification much higher than after the cheaper slow freezing method.

Indications for which the program may be suitable for patients:

  • A woman's desire to have a child at a later age.
  • The need to undergo aggressive treatment that can damage oocytes.
  • Egg preservation for repeat IVF
  • Age or other pathologies that cause a reduction in ovarian reserve (number of oocytes).
  • Other reasons why women who want to have children can't afford it right now.
  • Intention to become an egg donor.

Stages of the delayed motherhood program:

  1. Primary appointment and examination by a reproductive specialist. During the consultation, the patient receives detailed information about the "delayed motherhood" program, its features and effectiveness, about the stages that precede and follow the freezing of oocytes.
  2. Examinations of the patient. At this stage, the obstetrician-gynecologist, reproductologist prescribes a number of tests, laboratory and instrumental studies, which include:
    • Blood and urine tests.
    • Tests for various infections.
    • Ultrasound of the pelvic organs and mammary glands.
    • ECG
    • Other studies, depending on the condition and characteristics of the patient.

There is an assessment of the health of the patient and her chances for a successful outcome.
  3. Ovulation stimulation. Since in the natural cycle the woman's body produces only 1-2 oocytes, ovarian stimulation is carried out, which allows 6-8 eggs to be obtained in one menstrual cycle. Ovarian stimulation involves the use of hormonal agents, so if a woman has contraindications to hormonal therapy, in such cases a sparing regimen is used, or stimulation is not applied and oocyte retrieval occurs in a natural cycle.
  4. Receiving oocytes. The oocyte retrieval takes place on the appointed day under anesthesia, during which the uterine wall and follicles are punctured through the vagina using a needle with a catheter and the oocytes are retrieved.
  5. Selection of oocytes. The eggs obtained in this way are studied by embryologists, who evaluate their condition, viability, the presence of anomalies and defects in the laboratory. Only good cells are frozen.
  6. Freezing of oocytes. The most viable and healthy eggs are treated with a cryoprotectant, a substance that prevents the formation of ice crystals. The treated cells are ultrafast frozen in liquid nitrogen.
  7. Storage of biomaterial. Thanks to this method of freezing oocytes, they can be stored in a cryobank for any period of time. And if necessary - defrost without loss of viability. Such an egg can then be fertilized during IVF.

"Delayed Motherhood" in K+31

Our reproductive center has its own cryobank, which meets all the necessary requirements and conditions for secure storage of biomaterial. We carry out ovulation stimulation, oocyte sampling, freezing (cryopreservation) oocytes using the most effective methods - all manipulations are carried out in strict accordance with the standards. We ensure the safety of the delayed motherhood program, and the cryopreservation included in it saves all the vital functions of the eggs, their quality after defrosting is no different from healthy ordinary oocytes. We use only researched methods, proven advanced technologies and new modern equipment. All services are provided at a high level, from the collection and freezing of biomaterial to fertilization, pregnancy and childbirth.

Our clinic in Moscow also provides:

  • Sperm cryopreservation. For freezing, spermatozoa are used, obtained naturally by ejaculation or with the help of assistive technologies, such as TESA. This allows you to preserve the reproductive potential of a man for many years.
  • Cryopreservation of embryos. During in vitro fertilization, only one or two of the most promising embryos in terms of implantation are transferred into the uterine cavity, however, a much larger number of high-quality embryos are most often found in the biomaterial than can be used in a single IVF attempt. Freezing allows you to save high-quality viable embryos for an unlimited time, and the woman avoids repeated procedures for ovarian stimulation or follicle puncture. Our doctors use embryo freezing to increase the cumulative pregnancy rate.

K+31 uses the most reliable and safe method of cryopreservation - vitrification: ultra-fast cooling of biological materials, which does not damage the structure of cells and completely preserves their viability after "defrosting".

We also provide other medical services: infertility treatment, including male infertility treatment, pregnancy diagnostics and management, IVF. For our patients, the clinic offers such areas as gynecology, embryology, urology, doctors of various profiles and specializations work.
