Eosinophils are included in the white blood cell count; their normal value is 1-5%. They play a key role in neutralizing and destroying foreign cells (parasites, protists, bacteria) circulating in the blood and in tissues. This occurs through the production of special receptors that bind to immunoglobulin E, forming a cytotoxic (cell-destroying) complex.

Eosinophil levels decrease in the following cases:

Good afternoon! I first saw my general practitioner, Irina Vladimirovna, on October 16, 2025, regarding a swollen left leg. Irina Vladimirovna conducted a detailed interview, collecting my medical history, examining and palpating the swollen area of my leg (from my foot to my knee), and performing a general examination. She immediately determined that I most likely had a venous thrombosis. She then referred me for a duplex scan of my lower extremity veins, a phlebologist, and a cardiologist. Irina Vladimirovna explained the treatment plan in great detail and prescribed a special diet. I had my second appointment with Irina Vladimirovna on December 3, 2025, after seeing a phlebologist, cardiologist, and endocrinologist (who also turned out to be highly qualified professionals) following the prescribed treatment. She examined me again and confirmed that I was feeling better and that my treatment was proceeding as planned. During this appointment, she was able to coordinate a uric acid blood test for me with the insurance company, demonstrating genuine patient care. Irina Vladimirovna proved herself to be a true doctor who truly cares about her patients!
