Round table BSLU

On July 29, 2022, a round table was held at the K+31 West clinic on the topic "Biopsy of "sentinel" lymph nodes in breast cancer and skin melanoma".

Employees of all K+31 branches took part in the round table. The speakers of the conference are the deputy chief physician for oncological care Merkulov I.A. and the oncologist Malygin S.E. The reports were very capacious, including the latest scientific data, clinical aspects, the results of a sentinel lymph node biopsy already performed earlier in K+31 ( BSLU).

Accurate detection of metastatic involvement of regional lymph nodes using the SLNL method significantly helps in determining the prognosis and influences the treatment plan.

Until recently, patients with a positive biopsy were advised to remove regional lymph nodes. However, the results of a study are now in that it has been found that active surveillance is considered an acceptable treatment recommendation for these patients and has an equivalent survival rate.

The participants of the round table discussed the possibilities of using this method not only in the framework of the covered nosologies, but also in other localizations of the oncological process, and logistics issues to speed up the results.

All the necessary equipment and consumables for manipulation are available at the K+31 West branch.

The discussion turned out to be lively and very interesting, during which one of the proposals was to hold a more extensive conference on this issue with the participation of many specialists from our clinics.

We thank all colleagues for their participation!

Thank you for the materials provided by the oncologist-mammologist, surgeon S.E. Malygin.
