Rules of life Marchenko V.V., urologist K+31 West

On choosing a profession

I am a dynastic urologist, although initially I wanted to be a lawyer - it was very fashionable.

But my dad gave me the idea of medicine, and from the first days at the university I already decided on a specialty.

Urology is a very large-scale specialty, it includes many facets: surgery, endocrinology, therapy, and even psychology. Objectively, for each urologist in the specialty there is something different.

For myself, I chose andrology and surgical urology. I want men at 50 not to feel like decrepit grandfathers.

About men's health

Men's health is primarily influenced by lifestyle and testosterone. How can you expect activity from a tired, driven person? We can help such patients prolong their youth. But for some reason this is not accepted in our country, and all problems are attributed to age.

Men are afraid of drugs, especially hormones. But this is wrong. This attitude is the result of a lack of awareness.

You need to visit a urologist regularly. This is not just a doctor who treats chlamydia, but the person who can prolong your youth and maintain your health.

And now attention! A smear is not required. You can pee in a jar, and the result will be the same. The main thing is to pass urine correctly.

If you feel that something is wrong, do not read books, search the Internet or ask a neighbor. Contact your doctor.

About attitude to urology

Today, the attitude towards urology is slowly but changing. Patients become more aware. But for some reason, going to the dentist is still not a shame, but to the urologist... And because of this terrible stigma, many patients delay the appointment. In no case should you do so.

Some people think that urologists are scary people. I think this is due to the approach that was in urology before. Now everything is different. At the reception, I not only watch, but also listen. Therefore, my appointment usually lasts more than an hour.

I am also a man, but I am also a doctor. I understand everything and am also afraid of smears. Therefore, I talk with patients for a long time, sometimes I joke, I tell how everything will be in reality.

About terms

Genital terms are a separate issue. At one time I corrected the patients, but then I came to the conclusion: let him call him whatever he wants, if only it would help to tell the truth and make the reception comfortable.
