Indications
Transtimapanal injection of drugs is an effective way to combat symptoms indicating middle ear pathology. These include:
- Acute serous otitis
- Suppurative otitis media
- Meniere's disease
- Sensorineural hearing loss in the acute stage
Indications for eliminating clinical symptoms are:
- Loss of hearing acuity (unilateral, bilateral)

- Ear pain of varying intensity
- Periods of severe dizziness
- Noise in the ears when changing body position
- Isolation of exudate from the auditory canal
Taking into account the clinical manifestations, the doctor selects the necessary medicine for transtympanic delivery: for purulent-inflammatory forms of otitis - antibiotics, in the case of sensorineural hearing loss - corticosteroids.

Preparation
There are no specific preparations for the procedure. The manipulation is performed on an outpatient basis by an otolaryngologist. In this case, the patient is positioned lying on his side, providing access to the sore ear.
