MA Ershtein presented the topic «Differential diagnosis of microcalcifications in the mammary glands». Microcalcifications are small deposits of calcium salts. They are not palpable and do not cause any discomfort; they look like white spots on a mammogram.
Calcifications can occur with benign changes, but can also be the initial signs of a malignant process in the mammary gland.
In this regard, differential diagnosis is used - a method that excludes diseases with similar symptoms that are not suitable for any facts, which, ultimately, should reduce the diagnosis to the only probable disease.
