STAGE I. The ovaries are stimulated with special drugs.

Many different drug administration regimens can be used. The goal of stimulation is to cause the maturation of several eggs at once, and not just one, as in a normal cycle. The duration of ovarian stimulation usually does not exceed 10-12 days.

STAGE II. Ovarian puncture to obtain mature eggs.

Contrary to popular belief, ovarian puncture is not an operation, but a medical procedure. This is the only stage of IVF that requires pain relief.

STAGE III. Fertilization of eggs with sperm and growing (cultivation) of embryos.

At this stage, the equipment of the clinic, the quality of equipment in the embryology laboratory, the cleanliness of the air, and the skills of specialists are especially important.

STAGE IV. Transferring embryos into the uterine cavity (patients often call this embryo transfer) is the final stage of treatment.

The procedure is painless and does not require anesthesia.

Supporting pregnancy with medications (second phase support). Today, not every IVF program is carried out according to the classical scenario. Cryopreservation is increasingly used - when sperm, eggs or embryos are frozen. Such cells can be stored for many years.

  • Modern clinics offer patients the opportunity to genetically test embryos before transfer to the uterus.
  • In some situations, the condition of patients does not allow them to receive their own germ cells; in such situations, you can use donor eggs or sperm.

For every complex or simple situation there is a way out

Using modern approaches to IVF allows you to get pregnant quickly and safely.
