Usage
To use the device, you must have a smartphone that has an NFC module, which allows for contactless secure data exchange (available in almost all modern smartphones). You must install the FreeStyle LibreLink application in advance or at your doctor's appointment.
After installing the sensor on the shoulder and activating it in the application, you can measure glucose multiple times throughout the day, receive information about the trend (increase, stabilization, decrease), attach information about food, medications and physical activity, view brief reports and history of measurements.
The sensor stores a continuous history of changes for 8 hours. You can scan information with your smartphone as many times as you like, but at least once every 8 hours, otherwise some of the data will be lost.
Operating principle
FreeStyle Libre is a small, disposable sensor that is placed on the back of the upper arm. and reads fluctuations in glucose levels in the interstitial fluid. Finding out your glucose level is easy, you just need attach your smartphone with a pre-installed program to the sensor on your shoulder. The phone picks up the signal at a distance of up to 4 cm, information can be scanned through clothing, so the device is easy to use at home, at work, on a trip, in a cafe or restaurant, in the gym - in any environment.
The device reads glucose levels every 5 minutes for 14 days, during which the user receives complete information about changes in glucose levels during the day and night. Thanks to this, you can evaluate the reaction to different types of food, hypoglycemia, dawn syndrome, select drug therapy if necessary. Continuous monitoring system Glycemia makes it possible to learn about trends in blood sugar levels that would otherwise remain undetected when using a traditional glucometer or assessing glycated hemoglobin.
