The Clinic of Ophthalmology and Eye Microsurgery K+31 is one of the first to be able to use a new generation of antiglaucoma drainage Preserflo Santen!

The head of the Clinic of Ophthalmology and Eye Microsurgery K+31, candidate of medical sciences, Abramov Sergei Igorevich, as part of a delegation from Russia of 3 famous surgeons, was trained by the Japanese company Santen, famous for world achievements in ophthalmology.

A new development is aimed at the surgical treatment of glaucoma - the installation of a new microinvasive shunt to reduce intraocular pressure by removing it from the eye to the subconjunctival space - PreserFlo.

Glaucoma is a serious eye pathology characterized by an increase in intraocular pressure, which "presses" on the optic nerve and "kills" the nerve fibers, which leads to complete blindness.

The training took place on the basis of the well-known ophthalmological center named after Malayan in Yerevan, Armenia.

Within a few days, surgeons successfully performed several dozen operations under the strict supervision of the European medical curator of the company. At the end of the course, certificates were issued indicating the possibility for surgeons to use these shunts in patients in Russia.

Clinic of Ophthalmology and Eye Microsurgery K+31 is one of the first to now have the opportunity to use a new generation microshunt Preserflo Santen and perform these operations!
