K+31 in the program «I'm ashamed of my body»

Sergey Mosny from Moscow applied to the project «I am ashamed of my body» after 2 nose fractures and the consequences of an unsuccessful operation to correct a deviated septum.

Curvature of the nasal septum can provoke:

• Violation of nasal breathing.
• Inflammation of the nasal mucosa.
• Chronic sinusitis or frontal sinusitis.
• Inflammatory diseases of the pharynx and larynx.
• Headaches.
• Decreased sense of smell.
• Snore.

The operation to restore the shape of the patient's nose was performed by Ilya Sergeevich Sadikov, head of the otorhinolaryngology clinic «K+31», a member of the Russian and European Society of Rhinologists, with 22 years of experience in performing such operations.

The operation consisted of several stages:

Stage 1

Submucosal vasotomy of the inferior turbinates is a surgical operation in which the volume of the turbinates and mucous membranes is reduced in order to eliminate swelling of the nasal tissues. This allows the nasal mucosa to be filled with blood to maintain constant free breathing.

Stage 2

Fixation of the nasal septum in the anatomically correct position.

Stage 3

Rhinoplasty.

Sadikov I.S. managed to restore the anatomically correct shape of the patient's nose, nasal breathing, and return the sense of smell to the hero of the project.
